So it'd been quite awhile since I had done a Primal Drift Day at Winton, 441 days to be exact and a lot has changed car setup and driving ability wise.
The last two times I drove their layout on the skid pan I was pretty terrible, so I was pretty keen to see how I'd go since learning how to drive a bit better.
Rewinding back to the day before, I did a quick check over the car and discovered that I pinched the new rocker cover gasket when changing it after last Winton (I bloody hate fitting these things!). Luckily I was able to quickly fix this by undoing the bolts then slightly lifting the rocker cover and using a pick to slide the gasket into place. No more leaks!
The photo below is the old gasket which I pinched without realising. I stupidly cranked the rocker cover bolts to try stop a slight leak which ended up splitting the gasket after a few drift days and pissing oil all over my firewall and gearbox at the last Winton.
What you don't want.
Celebrating with a mandatory Boss coffee.
So anyways, after a long three hour sleep, it was time for a drive up to Winton while constantly wishing it was closer like Calder. Something big and cotton had exploded on the freeway resulting in a big chunk getting stuck next to Jen's exhaust and a few on my intercooler.
Blurry pic but you can sorta see it

Karl being Karl
After unpacking, changing my rear wheels and getting Karl off the trailer, it was time to drive!

Quick video that Bry filmed of me early in the day. Unfortunately my GoPro helmet mount fell off first session so I didn't get any in car footage.
I had a total blast driving the whole day without any issues. I was driving the course much better than the first two days I did here back in 2015 when I was starting to learn how to drift haha.

Street cars + Karl
We all survived the day except for Karl's axle which broke first session after he jinxed himself saying he'd be one of the last cars running by the end of the day, but he still had a blast driving all of our cars.
I was following Andrew on the way back and then out of nowhere I saw some bolts shoot out at me from under his car then it suddenly decided to eject its exhaust.
Ejecto exhausto cuz
Big shout out to the Primal Garage guys for running a great day, I'm super keen for the next one. Unfortunately, we stayed back for a bit cleaning the pits as it looks like some dickhead drivers left rubbish behind when there were bins conveniently located in the pits.
