JZX Build: Power
Alright I did all of this quite awhile ago now so I’ll probably be leaving a bit out simply due to my bad memory.
Like most people I got bored during the 2020 lockdowns and decided to do a power build on the JZX.
It hadn’t lol. It requires modification to the water hardline to clear the actuator though I’d recommend just going a different turbo saving yourself some money and headaches
So I removed the IWG, chopped the bracket as it still fouled
And welded the IWG flap
Then acquired a 6boost manifold with a 50mm gate
It fits now at least… If I knew this was going to happen then I would’ve just bought a manifold and turbo from the get go with vband.
I’d made the hot pipe and intake while waiting for the manifold too
Cheese toastie and coffee break
Fabbed up a screamer pipe
Next up was the BOV. Haven’t run a BOV since my evo thought it would’ve been a nice touch on this since gtx’s don’t flutter a lot
Mocked up fitment and used a dab of paste to check bonnet clearance
Everything finished up and ready for tuningFinal results. Sort of regret not pushing it harder since there was more headroom but overall happy with how it drove

I went with the GCG “bolt-on” gtx3076 kit which apparently had its fitment issues resolved.

Went ahead and cut a hole in the cooler pipe
Precut notch butted up pretty well
It all welded up really well too. Think this is the best aluminium weld I’ve ever done visually
