Fixing the 180’s bent clutch pedal
Figured I’ll start posting up more random small things that I’ve done.
Popped over to Phuong’s for him to give me a hand (see: do most of the work)
The original one had broken at a spot weld in the past so it looks like someone’s welded it back up.
It came with some instructions that I didn’t read until we finished the job.
Extra welds on the Nismo one to reinforce the spot welds.
The 180 has had a bent clutch pedal ever since I got it and I decided enough was enough.
It was due to the standard clutch pedal bracket breaking at the spot welds which is a very common problem. New Nismo one was only $120 delivered.

However it split the metal next to the weld and the spot weld further up had broken too.

Old vs new
Pedals are all evenly spaced again. The clutch pedal used to sit right next to the brake pedal due to the old broken pedal. Excuse the random unconnected wiring that I still need to pull out.
Broken pedal bracket where it belongs.
The removal of the old one is fairly straight forward which is to simply undo the bolts on the clutch master cylinder in the firewall, one bolt on the clutch pedal bracket inside the footwell and the pin that connects the clutch master cylinder to the pedal then yank it out.
Swap the pedal, pedal stop and spring over onto the new bracket and go to fit it back in.
Line the two studs into the hole that they’re meant to go into then you’re going to have to push it hard to squeeze past the air vent plastic. Once it’s back in, reconnect the pin for the clutch cylinder and do up all the nuts/bolts.
