Tokyo

So I was meant to blog each day but that never ended up happening lol. The next destinations after spending a few days in Tokyo were Nagoya, Osaka and then back to Tokyo for a few more days before heading back home. This post will just cover the Tokyo legs of the trip.

There's going to be a mixture of phone and camera photos so excuse the quality of some photos.

So the next day I spent of the trip in Tokyo landed me in Akihabara which is where you'll find a lot of electronics, model kits and maid cafes.

I picked up a few model kits that I'll probably never end up building. Maybe I'll get around to it when I get my own place so I can decorate it lol.

Now I just need the real life versions
You'll end up doing a lot of walking around Japan which will naturally cause you to be hungry a lot. In short I ate a lot the whole trip and I'm pretty sure I gained some weight but I've been too scared to hop back on the scales to check.

Anyways, I love katsu curry and Japan has a few chains, one being Go!Go! Curry which was awesome.

How can you resist a restaurant with a gorilla as the mascot
I ordered a basic one which safe to say, has blown away any rendition I've had back home.

Mmm now I'm craving some
After walking around Akihabara for a bit, I got hungry again and ended up popping into a MOS Burger. I've seen the name pop up quite a few times and figured I should give it a shot.

Luckily they have photos otherwise I'd be screwed
I ended up ordering the prawn cutlet burger and melon soda. I'm really surprised that we don't have melon soda back in Australia because this shit is the bomb. The prawn cutlet burger was pretty nice too.

Oishiiiii
Later that night I headed off to an Izakaya to meet up with the others.

I feel like the fish is judging me
A lot of food, beer and sake was consumed that night.

And then back home to conk out for another day.

I popped into the Pokemon Centre the next day. Should've bought more stuff lol.

Picked this up from the conbini nearby. I'm not much of a drinker anymore but there were so many delicious alcoholic beverages of different flavours and the big cans of strong zero help make the long bullet train rides pass a bit quicker haha.

Walking back to the train station, I stumbled upon a random cat park which was pretty cool. It was a pretty nice chill park and a lot of people came out just to chill with the random cats.

I forgot which day it was but I lined up for Goro feathers for my brother. Safe to say, I'm glad that I'm not into hyped up things because that'll be the last time I spend 4 hours lining up for something...

Hypebeasts everywhere
Being in Japan, I had to hit up a sushi train. This one was pretty cool as it had a gachapon which gives you a chance of winning every 10 plates you put away and I ended up winning something.

Order all the things
The prize I won

I pretty much enjoyed all the options available besides the natto, I seriously can't do that stuff haha. There was also fugu on the menu but I wasn't game enough to try it.

On one of the nights back in Tokyo, I went to go watch a baseball game. I'm not a sports person at all but I thoroughly enjoyed watching the game. The atmosphere was pretty awesome and they had cute girls running around with beer kegs on their back at their disposal.

I felt pretty hyped to give baseball a shot after watching the game so I headed to a batting cage. I probably managed to only hit 50% off the balls haha. I wish we had somewhere like this back home open late too.

The next day I headed to the One Piece museum at Tokyo tower. It's definitely worth a visit if you're a One Piece fan.

After 22 years I still don't know how to smile in photos
Apparently food is this big
They seemed to be running a Halloween theme as well which seemed to be pretty popular in Japan compared to Australia. Anyways, upon entry you're given a map which you stamp at each attraction in the theme park and at the end you get to enter a prize draw which I won a giant inflatable hammer from.

They also run a live action show which I didn't understand one word of and was pretty strange to watch and I also felt a bit uncomfortable when most the guys around me had their cameras zoomed in on Nami.

Time for Sanji's cooking
There's quite a few games and attractions to keep you entertained. Luckily I went pretty early so it wasn't too busy.

There's a souvenir shop too to pick up some memorabilia. I think I'm starting to have one too many plush toys for a grown man though haha.

This about wraps it up for the Tokyo legs of the trip. I sorta wish I took more photos as I didn't get to document everything, but at the same time I was enjoying myself and having a good time. Anyways, a Nagoya/Osaka post will be up soon.
