Drift X
Attending Drift X was a pretty last minute thing for me. I ended up arriving at around 5pm after messing around with the teg in the morning (to no avail) and deciding that the S14 could wait till Sunday before I'd end up rage quitting and burning both cars.
I actually ended up spending the first hour or so walking around the pits with Maq and Henry before I ended up going to watch any drifting. There were a few cool cars around the pits that I spotted while walking around.

I still have a soft spot for Zenki's, maybe one day. |
Krish's old 32 enjoying the sun |
Chris not letting a blown head gasket stop him from hard parking |
Not your regular 33 4 Door |
So clean it got another shot |
Michael's 32 had retired for the day by the time we got there. It was running faultlessly till he snapped his handbrake cable and then blew a rb20 box the next day. Michael also discovered he was running Aragosta's after I pointed them out haha.
I then trekked down to the main track/the bowl to catch some drifting and rubber showers in my eyes.
The cool thing about this year was that the Thunderdome was running till 11pm for some night drifting. Sadly my basic camera setup was struggling with the low light - maybe time for full frame soon if I can stop spending on cars.
There was some pretty impressive driving too, some of these guys have no fear
I ended up putting my camera away to just focus on watching the drifting, there were some pretty intense trains going on throughout the night.
These were the only usable photos unfortunately as I didn't realise how noisy/blurry the other night shots were till I got home and loaded it up on my computer haha.
Hopefully this years event inspires a lot more people to enter for next years, there was an amazing atmosphere when the night drifting kicked on with even parents watching with kids on their shoulders.
Jap tubs ftw |
